Memorial Day

"Posterity! You will never know how much it cost the present Generation to preserve your Freedom! I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven, that I ever took half the Pains to preserve it."
— John Adams
Our Memorial Day tradition is to go to the 6:00 a.m. Memorial Service where the American Legion honors each branch of the armed services.
Someone got creative with their food. :)

Happy Memorial Day!

Talent Show

This year, our church had a talent show for all ages. Nathan recited a poem, Dad, Ryan and Stephen did a skit, and Michelle and Lisa did a lip sync.

Homespun Grace

Michelle had a booth in the young entrepreneurs exhibit at the Illinois Christian Home Educators convention this weekend. She sold unique handmade aprons, cards, tea towels, and more. Michelle really enjoyed the experience and interaction with the ICHE members. Here is a video of her talking about the exhibit.

Camp Forest Springs

Our family participated in a work weekend at Camp Forest Springs. The girls, Nathan, and Kevin did mostly raking.
They served us such wonderful meals! It was definitely a highlight of the trip. :)

Nathan and Kevin got to see some cool animals at a forest preserve near the camp.
Dad, Ryan and Stephen spent all day cutting down trees and hauling away the wood.
Afterward, we did a little sight-seeing around the Wisconsin area. It was a weekend to remember!

Worldview Conference

We attended the Midwest Regional Worldview Conference on April 16-17. It was held at Providence Church in Morton, Illinois. It was refreshing, encouraging, challenging, and FUN! We stayed at a cabin a few minutes from Providence Church. Above is a picture of the cabin we stayed at.

Eating lunch one day at the conference.
